Iced Dirty Dandelion Chai

I love the idea of an iced Latte on a hot summer day but coffee just doesn’t like me! This antioxidant rich, liver loving brew is satisfying on so many levels. Brew up a big batch, store it in the fridge and simply add maple syrup and unsweetened vanilla oat milk over ice to serve. You can find roasted dandelion root and herbal chai at your natural foods store or online at omfoods.com or harmonicarts.ca

Ingredients:

makes 4 cups (4, 1.5 cup servings)

  • 2 Tbsp. roasted dandelion root
  • 2 Tbsp. herbal chai tea (often known as Yogi Chai)
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla oat milk per serving
  • 1 Tbsp. maple syrup per serving
  • ice

Combine the two tablespoons of roasted dandelion root and herbal chai in a medium sized saucepan.

Add four cups of water. Bring to a boil, simmer for 20 min. Strain and store in a mason jar in the fridge until cool. To serve, combine 1/2 cup of cold oat milk in a 12 oz. cup with 1 tbsp. maple syrup. Add ice. Carefully pour the dandelion chai on top of the sweetened oat milk to create a layer effect.

Enjoy!
